Almere, the youngest city in the Netherlands, has always embraced ambitious construction projects. Everything had to be reinvented, as the city rose from the reclaimed land of the Zuiderzee.

Almere Architecture City showcases this ?New Town? through its top 100 buildings: from the eco-district of Oosterwold to Liesbeth van der Pol\'s industrial Rooie Donders and from OMA\'s (Rem Koolhaas) elevated City Centre to Daniel Libeskind\'s landscape artwork. Internationally renowned firms like Alsop, MVRDV, and SANAA are showcased, alongside Dutch icons such as Herman Hertzberger, Marlies Rohmer, and René van Zuuk.

Beyond the architectural wonders, the guide unveils the city\'s hidden treasures, such as the historic Bivouac House, Almere s first dwelling, to Europe\'s pioneering transgender zebra crossing. You will also discover playful creations like the Klokhuis, designed by children, and artist Marinus Boezem?s majestic Green Cathedral. Dive into the stories behind these landmarks, uncovering fascinating facts and anecdotes that illuminate the spirit of Almere and its youthful monuments.
